Hastings District Respite Care was founded as a not-for-profit organisation in 1986. It's a daytime provider of social programs, respite care and support services, based at the Morton Centre in Port Macquarie.
The largest business unit in the Omnicare Alliance, HDRC Services - as it's more commonly known - also operates another Port Macquarie centre at Greenmeadows.
It runs similar programs and services regularly at the St Matthew's Anglican Church Hall, Wauchope; and at the Camden Haven Home & Community Care Centre, Laurieton.
It was HDRC Services staff who adopted Montessori principles for dementia care that have developed into our WISER approach.
