Bain Park Cottage Seniors Hub
Since 2019, the Wauchope and Hastings hinterland areas have been impacted by bushfires, floods and the Covid pandemic, forcing us all to isolate for long periods. This has had a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing, particularly for the aged population. To combat loneliness and social isolation, we have opened the Seniors Hub at Bain Park Cottage in Wauchope.
This project received grant funding from the Australian Government as part of the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program. The hub features a great variety of outings and onsite activities, a sensory garden, and creativity shed. It is a safe and inclusive place for all seniors to come together to build social connections and feel a sense of belonging.
